Dunedin Apprentice of the Year Award 2024
Following the passing of Trev Hart our Construction Manager last year, the Dunedin branch wanted to commemorate his massive contribution to ABL but most importantly his passion for the industry and his commitment to developing apprentices through the company.
The decision was made to create a Dunedin Branch Apprentice Award of the year. This award was presented in December 2024 for the inaugural time to Antony Ewing.
Dunedin Construction Manager Hayden Stafford said picking a winner was tough, as there were plenty of standouts this year and a lot of improvement across the whole team.
Antony stood out for his drive to improve his own skill set and knowledge, going the extra mile by taking on extra night classes. This initiative showed not only his dedication but also his willingness to push himself to the next level. It’s been great to see him encouraging others to do the same.
Antony has also been selected for his strong work ethic and his willingness to take on new challenges, which has been evident throughout the year. On the NDH Outpatients project, he stepped up and took on significant responsibility with the builder’s work for services. For those familiar with the job, you’ll know it’s no easy task, but Antony has handled it exceptionally well—especially for an apprentice.
