ABL Dunedin

Amalgamated Builders has an extensive history of construction experience in New Zealand, starting in Dunedin in 1989, when the company was awarded the contract for the Oncology Unit at the city’s public hospital. The Fortex (now PPCS Silverstream) Meat Works near Mosgiel on the Taieri Plains followed the next year, prompting the establishment of the Dunedin office with a core of loyal tradesmen.

Since then, the relationship between the University city and ABL has been superb. From specialised, time-sensitive university and hospital projects, to meat and dairy works or restorations of historic city landmarks, ABL is the contractor of choice.

As a result of ABL’s performance in these and other public sector works, the Dunedin office now specialises in large-scale and long-term projects, such as the Dunedin Casino, University of Otago halls of residence commercial kitchens, the University Oval refurbishment, The University’s School of Maori Studies Te Tumu, the Moana Pool gym expansion and most recently the Dunedin Town Hall. In true ABL tradition, all were delivered on time and on budget.

Indeed, ABL promises to deliver on every job in a cost-effective, timely manner, whatever challenges come our way, and we always work as a team to ensure the end result meets everyone’s expectations. We are a proudly South Island-owned and operated construction business, with a heritage that stems from a commitment to building long-lasting relationships with our clients based on trust and mutual respect.
