Church Lane is a pedestrian based mixed use area, built within the historic character of early colonial architectural style. Locally appropriate materials have to be used in the external features of any building built in this area, including copper and stacked schist. These materials are positioned alongside modern materials as is emerging as central Queenstown's urban character style.

This Church Lane construction consisted of a new two storey building, plus a habitable basement. The ground floor is designed for use by bars and restaurants, alongside offices. The second storey features a top floor apartment.

Materials used in the construction included precast concrete, recycled timber, schist stone work, and copper sheeting, all topped with a colorsteel roof.
