Projects - Milford Visitor Centre
Milford Visitor Centre
- Situated in the beautiful, remote Milford Sound which is known for its extreme weather conditions
- The existing Visitor Center remained fully operational during this project
- Only 38 weeks to complete construction
This project involved the construction of the two new double leveled wings at either end of the existing Milford Sound Visitor Centre.
The remote location and extreme weather conditions of the site required extensive logistical co-ordination to ensure that materials and manpower were on site as and when required.
The existing Visitor Centre, which has around 2000 visitors through its doors per day, also had to be kept fully operational at all times. The building was of concrete floor and steel framed construction with aluminium cladding to the exterior.
