Nigel joined ABL team in 2020 after working as a Foreman / Site Manager on various projects in Christchurch and Auckland.
Starting his construction career as a carpentry apprentice, completing his National Certificate in Carpentry, Nigel quickly started taking the lead of the carpentry teams and soon become a leading hand carpenter due to this people skills, clear communication and understanding of building.
He has worked on a range of projects, from restrengthening buildings, architectural housing, renovations / alterations, to large scale housing developments as well as heavy structural and concrete commercial projects.
As a Site Manager for ABL Nigel’s takes an active role in the management of the Quality Assurance and Health and Safety, on smaller projects he takes on a much larger role in these areas and tracks the programme timeframes, runs direct carpentry teams and the corresponds with the consultant teams directly through the formal communication channels.
In the thirteen-years working in construction Nigel has developed an excellent understanding of construction techniques and is able to work with the Carpentry teams and Project Managers on construction methodologies and issues that can arise on-site.
