Projects - Hagley Park Staff Facilities Building
Hagley Park Staff Facilities Building
The project involved the construction of a new facilities building at Hagley Park for the ground-keeping staff. The building comprises a functional layout, with a kitchen and office space located on the upper floor, and shower and toilet facilities incorporated on the lower level. Additionally, an integrated store area was cleverly designed using the counter-levered space under the first floor, maximizing the available footprint.
As the main contractor, ABL collaborated closely with the consultant team to successfully deliver this compact project, which required the integration of multiple building materials and a complex construction sequence. The design of the building incorporates both aesthetic and functional features, ensuring that it blends seamlessly into its cricket ground and park surroundings.
The structure was carefully positioned to sit low on the grass cricket embankment, offering a stunning view of the cricket pitch from the kitchen area, adding to both the visual appeal and functionality of the space.
Throughout the project, ABL was mindful of the ongoing domestic and international cricket seasons. Construction activities were carefully planned and coordinated to ensure minimal disruption to the stakeholders. We worked closely with various parties to maintain clear access, ensure the safety and integrity of the building, and avoid any issues with the ongoing sporting events.
This close collaboration allowed us to deliver the project smoothly while respecting the importance of maintaining the operations of the cricket matches.
