New Wigram business complex opens
A new multi-million dollar business complex has opened in the Christchurch suburb of Wigram.
Known as Harvard Hub, the complex is on a one-hectare site on the corner of Stark Dr and Lodestar Ave. It is within the bigger Wigram Business Park built on former airfield land by Ngai Tahu Property.
Harvard Hub has been developed by TPI Ltd, which is headed up by Arrowtown-based developer Lindsey Topp. It has 22 office and warehouse units and is aimed at light industrial businesses.
The units are available for sale or lease, with most sold and the rest priced from about $500,000 to $1.1 million.
Confirmed occupants include Meshino Espresso, Ray White Metro, Wisdom Commercial Cleaning, Safepower Service, Quasar Systems, and World Wide Imports, Foley Plumbing, Mainland Roofing, and Champions of the World.
Topp said he was "delighted" the complex was finished. Construction company Amalgamated Builders built the complex over 18 months, with over 30 tradesmen on site at times.
"It's a very exciting time for this part of Christchurch as we're seeing huge growth and development supported by new transport links," he said.
"We have a good mix of businesses which offer a diverse range of services to complement the surrounding residential and commercial markets."
Leasing agent Gavin Ryan of Glass Miles Commercial said buyers so far were both owner-occupiers and investors, and some tenants had signed up for a seven-year leases.
